Appearance: With crimson red hair and pale, jade-green eyes, Axel stands at 6’1 and weighs (roughly) 135 pounds. For his height, Axel is rather thin (some would say too thin), lean with long limbs. His skin is lightly tanned and he is rather well-built, despite his slimness. His cheekbones sit high, sloping down into a narrow chin. His lips are thin, and almost always seem to carry some hint of a smirk. Under his eyes are two small, black markings, that of which resemble two tear drops.

Like the rest of the Organization, Axel wears a long, black leather coat over black pants that tuck into black boots. His long, spindly fingers are almost always clothed in black leather gloves as well.
Personality: Axel is a rather sarcastic guy, never one to take anything or anyone too serious. He’s not one to really let anything get to him—usually.

Axel is like a coin: two sides, but each is different from the other. On one side is the quiet, distant Axel which is rather evident when around people he’s not familiar with and/or fond of. He tends to be a smartass and a little too sarcastic in these situations, and rather blunt as well. He cares little for peoples’ feelings—and why should he? Feelings are foreign to Axel, and as far as he cares, they’re not important; they only tear you down in the end.

Axel can also be rather manipulative when he feels like it. He’s got a knack for reading people and knowing just how to work them, just what buttons to push to make them tick.

On the other side of the coin is Axel’s softer side, the side that only his closest friends get a chance to see, and even then it’s pretty rare. Believe it or not, Axel can be a pretty cool guy once you get to know him.
Abilities/Strengths: Axel is very skilled when it comes to manipulation. He knows just how to play with peoples’ emotions (despite the fact that he lacks them—or used to), push the right buttons to make them tick. For example, he once turned a boy specifically programmed to follow one man’s orders to listen solely to him.

He is also rather talented when it comes to fire, able to summon it with just a snap of his fingers, ranging anywhere from a simple flame to a raging inferno. Axel can create a wall of fire, preventing one’s escape .

As well as being rather dangerous, what with his ability to manipulate fire and people, and his chakrams, Axel is also rather swift and quick on his feet. He’s able to dodge with ease, almost seeming to dance out of the way, like a flickering flame avoiding being put out.

Weaknesses: Before regaining his heart, Axel’s greatest weaknesses were his pride, and, as sad as it sounds, cold and wet weather. Axel is very vulnerable to cold weather, and while he might radiate heat, sometimes it’s not enough to keep him warm in cool enough temperatures. On the same note, rain makes it a but difficult for him to summon his fire.

Now, though, with his heart intact, Axel’s greatest weakness is his newfound, unfamiliar emotions.

History: A double-agent at first, Axel pretended to side with Larxene and Marluxia in their plan to overtake the Organization by using Sora. When instructed to “remove” all “traitors”, Axel took out Vexen, the fourth member of the Organization, in order to gain the trust of Marluxia and Larxene. Once Axel had finally gained their trust, he turned on them, and in an attempt to mess up Marluxia’s plans, he released Namine so she could tell Sora the truth about how she had altered his memory.

Axel confronted Marluxia soon after, prepared to take him out by reminding him about the order to take out any traitors to the Organization, but Marluxia grabbed Namine and used her as a shield to hold Axel off. Axel, though, was prepared to go through anyone and anything, but was suddenly delayed as Sora made an unexpected appearance. Marluxia got away with Namine, and Axel was left to fight Sora where he was then defeated – but not for good. After Sora defeated Marluxia, Axel then called for the help of the Riku Replica that Vexen created in order to kill Zexion, so it could fight the –real- Riku.

It was later on that Axel met Roxas, after Xemnas had brought him in... Roxas was the only one who understood that what the Organization did, claiming hearts in order to complete the ultimate Kingdom Hearts, was wrong, no matter how good the outcome of it all sounded. Axel was rather distant from the other Organization members, aside from short conversation and time spent with them on missions, but with Roxas... With Roxas he was different. He didn’t know what it was or why, but Axel trusted Roxas the most out of everyone, and over time, Roxas became Axel’s best friend.

When Roxas suddenly decided that he had to leave (something about ‘finding out why the keyblade chose him’), Axel wasn’t exactly sure what to do, or if he even believed that Roxas would really leave. But Roxas –did- leave, and Axel became the person he once was; distant, closed off, and all too serious. He hardly spoke to anyone, and carried out all of his assignments rather mechanically, as if he wasn’t entirely there.

Axel soon decided that enough was enough, and went on a search for Roxas in Twilight Town – or what Roxas –thought- was Twilight Town. Axel tried to bring the boy back by force, knowing that if he and Sora met, that Roxas would no longer exist. DiZ interfered, and Roxas got away, much to Axel’s disappointment. On their second meeting, they fought – as much as it tore him apart to fight the only person he trusted, the only person he considered to be his best friend – and Axel was defeated, fading away with a smile, leaving Roxas to think that he was dead.

Axel returned to The World That Never Was with news that Roxas had fused with Sora. It was then that he turned his back on the Organization to surge ahead with his own plans. He kidnapped Kairi – Namine’s Somebody – in hopes that Sora would come after her so he could turn him into a Heartless, but his plans were destroyed as Saix appeared, taking Kairi to use her for the Organization’s intent; to fuel Sora’s anger.

Axel later met up with Sora outside of Hollow Bastion and told him the real intentions of Organization thirteen ,and that the boy had been aiding them all along on their mission to complete Kingdom Hearts, and fled after Saix appeared. He later discovered Sora in one of the pathways into The World That Never Was, and chose to fight on his side rather than the Organization’s. They were surrounded by Dusks, and in an attempt to save Sora, and with a hope that maybe, just maybe he could see Roxas once more, Axel sacrificed himself and apologized for all he’d done, fading away into nothing darkness. His one last wish was granted, for in his subconscious, in the few remaining seconds before his death, he met with Roxas again in his subconscious, just long enough to say goodbye and shed one, single tear... It was at that moment that the redhead regained his heart, before fading completely.
